Gary’s Thoughts
As I stand here in my creative chamber, “the studio”, and look around at recent projects, ones in the making and future ideas that are just vague shapes of clay- it’s quite exciting! There’s lots of energy in here that is very tangible and through a very real transference process; that creative energy that has gone into the forming of the clay ends up in the finished bronze sculpture that you, my revered collector ends up with! Creativity is a very powerful process on all levels. My hope is that these latest pieces inspire you and lift your spirit and that as you enjoy them in your home, city, or garden, they raise your soul to a higher level. In a very real sense, we all are artists as every day we “create” that which surrounds us. As you acquire and enjoy my work may your energy and creativity be enhanced, and may your creativity and imagination inspire others.

As follow through with my “Gary’s Thoughts” that went out in my last client newsletter I thought we’d show you the entire process to create a new life-size sculpture in clay. Of course the first and most “creative” part of the process is creating the original “maquette” or miniature from which the life-size piece is derived from. In this case I’m creating a new Mark Twain on a bench. The last life-size bronze edition sold out and we’ve had many requests for a new Mark Twain.
Many Hours and my life’s experience go into the original “maquette”. From there we create a metal “armature” or skeleton to which we will glue foam onto for the main mass of Mark’s body. As we update the sequence through photos feel free to ask questions and comment.
