I hopped out of the shower one day and there was my wife in curlers sitting in meditative form on the couch, backlit by the early morning sun. It was truly one of those magic moments I had to capture on film. Being the super-in-touch mom that she is, a cell phone was in one hand and the Walkman in the other – to block out background noise such as husbands singing in showers and yelling kids getting ready for school.

I dedicate this piece to my wife, Lanea, and all those who would perhaps like to hear a few less inner and outer voices.
